Meg (Jayne Brook) returns to Los Angeles and notices that Pete and Violet have gotten closer; Kevin questions his relationship with Addison; Cooper treats a diabetic boy with a mysterious past; and Charlotte's practice continues to siphon business away from Oceanside Wellness.
Charlotte\'s rival practice, Pacific Wellcare, opens its doors and the competition with Oceanside Wellness begins. Sam and Pete steal one of their clients. Addison\'s favorite patient goes to a the new practice for a second opinion. Dell proposes the creation of an in-house adoption program.
Addison and Charlotte work to save the lives of a comatose pregnant woman and her unborn child; Meg ruffles feathers when she begins seeing patients at Oceanside; and Violet seeks Kevin's advice when a patient is suspected of killing his wife. Sheldon: Brian Benben.
Addison\'s brother makes a surprise visit, causing trouble for her, Sam and Naomi; Meg comes back to try and make it work with Pete; a patient accused of a crime angers Violet and Dell.
Addison cares for two pregnant women, but there's a most-unusual snag: Both unwittingly share the same husband. Meanwhile, an Alzheimer's patient and her spouse inspire Sam and Naomi to reflect on their own relationship; and Violet drills Charlotte about her relationship with Cooper. Billy Dee Williams and Alexis Denisof guest star.
Violet must choose whether or not to break the law for a friend, while Addison's choices as leader of the practice may place Oceanside in peril.
Sam and Naomi are against each other to lead the practice with unexpected results. Addison treats a girl trying to hide her past while Cooper has a dilemma of his own affecting his professional career.
Charlotte tries to convince Addison to come to St. Ambrose Hospital while Addison and Kevin become closer. Meanwhile, Sam wonders if he is able to save Oceanside from financial disaster; Pete treats a patient with post-traumatic stress disorder; and Violet is threatened by a patient\'s son.
Addison and Sam work to bring the practice out of bankruptcy, as all of the doctors look for additional clients and new income streams. Violet\'s friendship with Cooper is on the brink.
